Martin Hölzemann

I'm an IT leader, software architect, and educator with more than 20 years of experience building and scaling digital solutions — and sharing that knowledge with the next generation of IT professionals.

My journey started in the 90s as a print and web designer, moved into web development in the early 2000s, and later into leadership roles shaping teams and technology strategies. Most recently, I led international developer teams at CHECK24, one of Germany's largest e-commerce companies, driving scalable architectures, APIs, and agile workflows. Before that, I served as Head of IT in a mid-sized retail group, responsible for IT strategy, infrastructure, and custom software development.

Today I combine three things: freelance consulting, independent app development, and teaching. As an IT instructor for system integration (FISI) at DAA NRW, I develop and deliver curriculum in network architecture, virtualization, and AI-assisted workflows — bridging enterprise practice with vocational education.

On the product side, I build apps where technology meets niche expertise. Current projects include Zenvale (Sleep & Relax Sounds), a Zone System Trainer for analog photographers, and a Scheimpflug Calculator for large format photography — proof that the most interesting software often lives at the intersection of craft and code.
